George Mattern was the FAA Inspector that truly made a difference for AAB. He was assigned to inspect AAB following the accident of N7777V. He was thorough but fair with an emphasis on assisting for positive change. To me he was more of a teacher than an Inspector. He recognized the level of expertise and professionalism that existed at AAB and worked along side us to ensure we were the best we could be. George was a good friend. More stories later...
