As most of the Gooses were phased out and the Mallards became the predominate aircraft, the maintenance scheduling became more of a focus. A fifteen seat aircraft out of service for maintenance had a greater impact on service to the flying public. Over the years, keeping the statistics of hours required to complete various inspections allowed the long term planning of inspection. The Maintenance Planning Board shows 7 Mallards and 3 Gooses and their inspection dates for 5 months plus. By adjusting each days flying hours on various aircraft we could target each inspection for a specific date. Scheduled maintenance was always more favorable than unscheduled maintenance.  I didn't always work out but a good plan was always better than no plan. AAB maintenance was a very professional operation.
