I have included this unfortunate event to the AAB website because it impacted many island operations at the time. Every AAB departure would have a interesting view of the efforts to get the fire under control and subsequent removal from the dock.

The previous year (1978) had AAB providing the tragic news  of unfortunate events.  Thankfully for the Angelina Lauro there were no fatalities or major injuries. I viewed the loss of this ship  and it reminded me of  the investigations that will follow and for many a time in there life they will never forget.
