Antilles Air Boats open its Fajardo station about 1968. AAB recognized the importance of this eastern Puerto Rican town and establishing a seaplane flight service to the U.S. Virgin Islands.

I'm still working on updated information regarding the old seaplane ramp.

I will post when available.

New photos seem to find their way to the AAB website over time. Old photos taken by visitors to the islands wind up being recognized by those vintage image sellers and put them up for auction on eBay.
My latest acquisition were slides taken back in
May 1974.
The slides tell me a visitor was in Puerto Rico and planned a trip to St. Thomas. They decided to take the Antilles Air Boats "Goose" from Fajardo to the Virgin Islands.
Capt. Dave Howard acknowledges his passenger that gets to ride up front with him as they prepare to depart from Fajardo. Always a thrill to sit up front and fly between the islands.

Fajardo, P.R.

Jack arrived in Fajardo with his wife and three kids in 1969 to fly the Goose for AAB.
His time at AAB was brief. He shares comments about his less than thrilled employment in his book Rupert Red Two -Chapter 16.

I am less than thrilled with his comments.
Charlie Blair was not married seven times only 3. The four engine aircraft never went down where passengers were killed or injured. Charlie's final flight did have fatalities but more survived than died. His comments on maintenance and flight operations may have some embellishments as well.
